Holy Week Services

Holy Week observance and Easter celebrations at Bethany Presbyterian Church, San Bruno

The local community is invited to be with us as we commemorate and celebrate Holy Week at Bethany Presbyterian Church in San Bruno. All people, of every faith journey, are welcome at Bethany.

Palm Sunday (March 29) commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem before he was betrayed and crucified. We will wave palm branches, singing hosannas as we enter into Holy Week. On this day we also dedicate our offerings to One Great Hour of Sharing and to the San Bruno Homeless Shelter.

On Maundy Thursday (April 2), we will recall the Last Supper our Lord had with his disciples with a service at 6:30 p.m. We offer foot washing for those who wish to participate, remembering how Christ washed the feet of his disciples, teaching them how they were to serve each other. Holy Communion will also be served.

We will watch the sun rise and celebrate the risen Son at our Easter Sunrise service, held on the hill overlooking the church at 6:30 a.m. on April 5th. A lovely continental breakfast follows in our sanctuary.
