​Human Remains Found In Burned Home After Fatal Shooting In San Bruno

The San Mateo County Coroner's Office will determine the identity and cause of death of the person found in the structure.

SAN BRUNO, CA — Human remains have been found in a San Bruno home that burned after a man was found mortally wounded there, police said Saturday.

The discovery came after a 31-year-old gunshot victim was located about 3 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Keefe Court, west of Interstate Highway 280, police said. He subsequently died at a hospital.

As officers were responding to the shooting, firefighters were called to the residence. Investigators subsequently located the remains inside the home. The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
