Floy Zittin will be presenting a method to create colorful birds by using watercolor and gouache on June 16, 2018, 1:00-3:00 pm at the SWA Gallery, 527 San Mateo Ave., San Bruno.

Floy's formal education was in biology and she became a scientific illustrator of college textbooks and field guides. Her focus since 1983 has been watercolors, which she also teaches. She describes her work in

three themes: technical accuracy, an appreciation of the principles of Oriental brushwork, and freshness. Her work has won many awards and has been exhibited in California, Texas, New York, Wisconsin, and Washington.

SWA demonstration meetings are free and open to the public.
