Homeowners or renters who have a residence with one or more bedrooms are matched with persons seeking housing. HIP Housing also performs intake interviews, reference checks and criminal background checks for you and provides support with a "living together agreement" that spells out the terms of the living arrangement.

HIP Housing has given free, long-term support to those who need it most in San Mateo County for over 40 years, helping to house more than 1,000 people each year throughout the County. This is especially important now in San Mateo County has become one of the most expensive areas to live in within the United States.
