Man, Armed with Table Leg, Robs Store at San Bruno Mall: Police
Police say the man threatened employees with the object.

SAN BRUNO, CA – A Bay Area man is behind bars Friday, suspected of stealing from a store at the Tanforan Mall while armed with a table leg, police say.
According to San Bruno Police Lt. Troy Fry, 49-year-old Marcel Criner of Pittsburg, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, possession of narcotics and on outstanding warrants following the incident at 11:04 a.m. Wednesday.
Fry says police got a call regarding a person "armed with some type of bat" who had committed a theft at the mall.

"A subsequent investigation revealed the subject... had taken items from a store within the mall and threatened employees with a table leg as he fled," Fry said in a news release.
Responding officers caught up with Criner, who was arrested at the scene, police said.

Jail records indicate the suspect was being held at the Maguire Correctional Facility on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
