Man Hit, Killed In San Bruno BART Parking Structure

BART officials say the man was waking on the fourth floor when the collision occurred.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A man was hit and suffered fatal injuries Thursday morning as he walked inside a parking garage for a local BART station. BART officials say the 55-year-old man, who was not identified, was struck on the fourth floor of the San Bruno Station's garage.

The incident happened at 8:52 a.m., according to BART officials. A person in a 1997 Ford Expedition struck the man.

"San Bruno and BART Police responded to the scene," BART said in a news release. "The driver of the Ford Expedition remained on the scene after the collision and was cooperative with investigators."

The victim was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital after the collision, but he died there a short time later, officials said.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
