Man Tries to Rob Duo Outside San Bruno Starbucks, Police Say
San Bruno police say the man tried to rob the two people at knifepoint.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A man was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of trying to rob two people outside a San Bruno Starbucks, police said.
Officers responded at 3:56 a.m. to a Starbucks at 1212 El Camino Real where 22-year-old Jose Rodriguez-Perez allegedly brandished a knife and demanded money from the victims.
The victims, who were sitting outside the store, refused to give him any money and he allegedly ran away, according to police.

Officers allegedly located Rodriguez-Perez a short distance from the store. Rodriguez-Perez allegedly was carrying the knife he used in the attempted robbery.
Police said witnesses identified Rodriguez-Perez as the suspect.

He was taken to the county jail on robbery and assault offenses. Rodriguez-Perez was also arrested in San Bruno on Feb. 17 on suspicion of possessing a concealed knife and possessing methamphetamine, police said.
