Safety Awareness
May is 'Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month'.
Find out what's happening in San Brunofor free with the latest updates from Patch.
In 2016, 4,976 motorcycle riders and passengers died in crashes, and nonfatal injuries totaled 88,000 according to the National Safety Council. Motorcyclists accounted for 13% of all traffic fatalities that same year. As part of the nationwide effort to reduce these numbers, officers will be deployed throughout the month to enforce motorcycle safety violations, such as helmet laws, proper lighting and equipment, speeding, and more.
We also want to remind motorists that motorcycles are harder to see..."look twice, save a life".
