SCHOOLS WITH TOMORROW INSIDE

Following the public hearing on January 22 for the 7-11 Committee to receive input from parents and the community regarding the Committee’s draft recommendations for school consolidation, the Committee met again on January 29th, discussed input from the hearing, and voted 10-0 to support the recommendations without changes.

As was communicated with parents and the community earlier, the Board was scheduled to act on the committee’s recommendations at its Board meeting on February 21. However, sensitive to the anxiety that is understandably generated with a decision of this magnitude, and wanting to be responsive to parents as quickly as possible, the Superintendent and Board have scheduled a SPECIAL MEETING,: Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Allen Elementary School. The only item on the agenda will be presentation of the 7-11 Committee Report, public comment, and Board action on the committee’s recommendations. The final Committee Report will be posted 72 hours in advance of the February 15th meeting and available on the District website at that timewww.sbpsd.k12.ca.us

On February 20th, Superintendent Dr. Kemp will send a letter to parents advising of the Board’s action and next steps in the process, if consolidation is approved.
