Here are some important things happening around town that everyone should know about this upcoming week.
Sunday, July 8. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The San Bruno Chamber of Commerce holds its Sunday Farmers' Market at its new location in the parking lot of The Shops at Tanforan, just north of the El Camino Real entrance.
Tuesday, July 10. The San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District will be starting its yearly helicopter treatments over San Bruno’s Mills Field. For questions, call 650-344-8592.

Tuesday, July 10. 10 a.m. Century at Tanforan will be screening another $1 summer movie.
Tuesday, July 10. Join and attend the S.O.S. (Save Our Schools) committee meeting from 6:30-8 p.m. every Tuesday night during the summer at the Veteran's Memorial Building in the community room. Wednesday, July 11. 9 a.m. San Mateo County is holding a public hearing during the Planning Commission meeting at 400 County Center in Redwood City to further discuss the steps necessary to ban plastic bags. Multiple background documents are attached.
Wednesday, July 11. 3 p.m. Music with Colibri. Songs of the Americas in English and Spanish will take place in the Allen Elementary School multipurpose room.
Friday, July 14. 1-2 p.m. A Tanforan Summer Mall Camp activity will take place on the lower level by Old Navy. The mall camp activities are for children ages 5-12. The mall camp runs through Aug. 9 and features a new activity or event each week.
