UPDATE: Pedestrian Dragged 60 Feet Under Car in Peninsula Wreck, Police Say

Person hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, according to police. [BREAKING]

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA – A person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Thursday after they were hit while trying to cross a South San Francisco street and dragged for an estimated 60 feet, police report.

The incident happened "in the early morning hours" in the 200 block of Grand Avenue, in the downtown area, according to police. The 37-year-old was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with major injuries.

South San Francisco police tell Patch that the person was in a marked crosswalk at the time they were hit. They were then dragged for nearly 60 feet before the vehicle stopped, police say.

The driver did stay at the scene and cooperated with authorities, according to officials. No arrests were made.
