Police Arrest Man for Concealed Knife, Drug Possession

San Bruno police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

SAN BRUNO, CA - Police in San Bruno on Friday arrested a man in connection with brandishing a knife.

Jose Rodriguez-Perez, 22, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon and possession of a controlled substance, according to the San Bruno Police Department.

On Thursday at 1:06 p.m., officers with the San Bruno Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Huntington Avenue on a report of a man reportedly brandishing a firearm.

Police said the suspect had lifted his shirt to expose what the reporting person believed to be the handle of a firearm tucked into the suspect's waistband.

Officers searched for the suspect but did not locate him.

On Friday at 5 a.m., police located the suspect, identified as Rodriguez-Perez, in the 400 block of West San Bruno Avenue.

Officers determined Rodriguez-Perez, who was in possession of a large knife concealed in his waistband and a controlled substance, was the suspect involved in the brandishing incident on Thursday.

Police said they believe the handle of the knife is what the original reporting person believed was a firearm.
