Presentation: Historic African American Families in San Mateo

Date: February 10, 2018 - Time: 1 p.m. - Place: San Mateo County History Museum
2200 Broadway - Redwood City

The San Mateo County History Museum will present retired radio and television personality and current author Claire Mack, the first African American mayor of San Mateo, on February 10, 2018 at 1 p.m. Her family came to San Mateo in 1913. Recognizing Black History Month, Mack will describe her family’s experiences in context to the larger story of African Americans in California. The program will take place in the History Museum’s restored “Courtroom A.” It will be free with the price of admission to the Museum ($6 for adults and $4 for seniors and students). The Mack presentation is part of the History Museum’s monthly “Courthouse Docket” series, sponsored by the Cypress Lawn Heritage Foundation. For more information call 650-299-0104 or go to www.historysmc.org/courthouse-docket.
