Residents Sound Off on Double-Digit Gas Prices Drop in Early June
Depending on where you're at in San Bruno, a 50-cent difference can be found in gas prices.
Average gas prices across the Bay Area dropped by double digits at the beginning of June compared to prices a month ago, according to the AAA, which monitors the rates.
That means Bay Area motorists can expect to pay $4.02 per gallon on average, compared to $4.32 in mid-May, AAA said.
While San Bruno residents are happy to see the decrease, those interviewed throughout the week said they would prefer to see some consistancy.

"I have three cars—my wife's car, my car and my daughter's," said Robert Harrison. "Every month I have to budget how much is going to be spent in gasoline and, when the price can very by a quarter of a dollar in just two months, it becomes difficult to do so."
According to GasBuddy.com, the cheapest gas in San Bruno can be found at at $3.89 per gallon while the most expensive gas was found at the station on El Camino Real and Sylvan Avenue at $4.39 per gallon.

Those prices were higher than the average prices found in San Francisco, where the most expensive gas costs $4.07 per gallon, according to AAA.
The average price across the state is $3.94, down 32 cents from a month ago but up 96 cents from this time in 2010.
California has the sixth-highest gas prices in the country with only Alaska, Hawaii, Connecticut, Illinois and New York ranking above it, AAA said.
In San Bruno, residents were very opinionated about the 50-cent difference found in gas prices around town.
One resident said she didn't agree that a gas station's location should determine the price of a gallon of gas.
"We have a gas station in town here that is located close to a freeway exit, and so the price of a gallon of gas shoots up about 50 cents," said Jennifer Coe. "Well, guess what? I drove right on past it and filled up at the next one, under $4 a gallon. I guess $4 is my marker right now for a good price for gas."
Despite some of the higher prices here, other residents said there are still a variety of gas stations that provide plenty of options—no matter what their budget.
