Police in San Bruno recently arrested two women in connection with a prostitution ring at a suspected brothel. Xifeng Yu, 40, of San Gabriel, and Shu Bo Zhang, 48, of Monterey Park, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of engaging in acts of prostitution, according to the San Bruno Police Department. Both women were issued citations and released.

Police conducted an undercover operation around 6 p.m. Oct. 18 after getting complaints from local residents and "independent investigations" by SMPD. The alleged illegal activity — and subsequent sting — happened on the 800 block of Commodore Drive, near El Camino Real and I-380, police said.

"During the operation, officers were led to an apartment where suspected prostitution was occurring," police said in a news release.
