San Bruno Burglary, Pursuit Suspect Runs Onto Local School Campus, Prompting Lockdown: Police
BREAKING: Police say a second suspect is still at large as of Thursday evening.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A Vallejo man is under arrest Thursday after allegedly being spotted leaving the scene of a San Bruno burglary, fleeing in a vehicle, crashing and running onto a local elementary school campus, police say. The man — whose alleged antics prompted a lockdown at the school — is now facing charges related to burglary, evading the police, and hit and run.
According to San Bruno Police Lt. Ryan Johansen, it all started around 11:19 a.m. Thursday, after officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress in the 2300 block of Crestmoor Drive.
"When officers arrived at the residence one of the suspects fled in a vehicle and a brief pursuit ensued," Johansen said in a news release. "The suspect vehicle was involved in a collision in the area of Crestmoor."

At that point, the suspect bailed on foot — and onto the John Muir Elementary School campus, Johansen said.
"The campus was quickly locked down and the suspect was apprehended on an adjacent street a short time later without further incident," according to the lieutenant. CBS SF Bay Area reports that the lockdown was lifted just before 1 p.m.

The suspect has since been identified as 23-year-old Derrick Warren of Vallejo.
Meanwhile, a second suspect who fled from the house after the robbery managed to elude authorities, Johansen said.
"A second suspect fled on foot from the residence, and despite a lengthy search involving numerous officers, K9’s, and air support units, he was not located," he said.
"It is not believed that there is any ongoing threat to residents or the school as a result of this incident," he added.
No one was at home during the alleged robbery, and no injuries were reported, he said.
"Most residential burglars select a target where they believe no one is home," Johansen said. "Alert neighbors provide the biggest help to police in solving these crimes. Please immediately report any suspicious activity to the Police Department via 9-1-1."
Anyone with any information related to this particular incident is urged to contact the San Bruno Police Department at (650) 616-7100 or by email: sbpdtipline@sanbruno.ca.gov. Information can be left anonymously.
