San Bruno CA: ALL About San Bruno AYSO

San Bruno AYSO Soccer Region 249 held their 2014 Soccerfest Friday September 5th at the Crestmoor field location.

The new and returning team members from 5 to 18 years showed up in their uniforms with their team banners, before they paraded around the main field before family, friends, and Mirian of San Bruno cable.

The Pep Band from CAP again started off the parade.

San Bruno AYSO Soccer includes physically challenged players and one VIP tean with their banner accompanies this article.

This author coached the U6 (under 6 year olds) for 4 seasons and just seeing the player mature and learn how to work as a team was rewarding.

Parents are constantly needed to volunteer as all aspects of the season are run and preformed by volunteers. No one is paid for their service.

San Bruno AYSO is celebrating its 50th year. 50 successful years and counting.

GOTO http://sanbrunoayso.org/soccerfest.html for a list of the team banner winners and the list of the judges. The banner contest entrants needed to meet the following criteria to be eligible for the judging:

Rules:

1. All banners must be handmade, measuring 3’ x 4’. or 4’ x 3’.

2. The sponsor’s name must be displayed in 2 inch (minimum) block letters.*

3. The team name and colors need to be on the banner.

4. Professionally made banners will not be judged.

The criteria for a winning banner is:

 Design (handmade)

 originality

 creativity

 sponsor’s name at least 2 inch letters (if the team does not yet have a sponsor – this requirement is waived) MORE sponsors are needed. Become a sponsor – CALL 650-873-AYSO

Games start Saturday September 6th 2014 and continue Saturdays into late November.
