A Yes vote on Measures U and R would allow for the hiring of experienced, qualified people for the positions of City Clerk and Treasurer.

Our current City Clerk and City Treasurer both endorse a Yes vote on Measure U and R. They know how difficult their jobs are and how important it is to have qualified people to keep San Bruno on track.

The qualifications now for an elected City Clerk and Treasurer are minimal - that person has to be at least 18 years old and a registered voter in San Bruno. That’s it. They don’t have to be able to operate a computer or any other office machine. They don’t have to know anything about the city or California laws governing cities and elections, they don’t have to know one thing about finances.

People often call on the City Clerk to help resolve issues or for information. An elected person, however well meaning, doesn’t necessarily know any answers. It can get very confusing.

Vote Yes on Measure U and R and have trained professionals do the job.
