Good Evening,

I would respectfully ask for you to vote NO on San Bruno Measure U.

This measure is asking voters to have the position of the City Clerk become an appointed position instead of elected by the people of this community. It would take away the choice from you and the voters and place it in the hands of the 5 members of the city council.

The City Clerk is responsible as the election officer for the city and is the first person that the public looks to for assistance, whether needing basic information or advice and guidance on getting their concern addressed.

This position should remain independent and neutral so there continues to be a voice of the people that they can always count on at City Hall.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Take care,

/s/ Rico E. Medina
