San Bruno CA: San Bruno AYSO's "Make A Difference Day" Needs YOUR Support

San Bruno CA: Please Support AYSO's Make A Difference Day

San Bruno AYSO and Greg Pierce Seek YOUR Support:

Make A Difference Day

As the leaves begin to change color and fall to the ground, it is once again time to turn our thoughts to the autumn season. In the retail stores I have seen Halloween, Thanksgiving and even Christmas decorations that signal it is once again the season of giving. For San Bruno AYSO that means Make A Difference Day. Those of you who have been involved with our soccer program for the past several years know that means Food Drive and Coat Drive.

For all those new to our program a brief overview...

Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October - Saturday, October 25, 2014.

This year we will be collecting non perishable foods (that will go to the 2nd harvest Food Bank of San Mateo County), gently worn coats (they will benefit those in need in San Bruno) AND gently used soccer uniform sets and cleats/boots that will be donated to kids in underdeveloped regions.

Flyers will be distributed on the field during the week of October 18 through October 25 - with more details at that time! Now is your chance to go through the kids rooms and clean out some of the overflowing soccer uniforms and coats the kids have outgrown. Also an opportunity to go through your cupboard shelves to look for items you are not using that could help feed the hungry. If you’re feeling especially generous, some of the most needed items can be purchased - such as tuna, pasta, beans, cereal, dry milk, peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruits. Please give generously.

Make A Difference Day.is one of the programs we support in San Bruno that sets us above other neighboring regions - we work to Make a Difference

Respectfully yours, Greg Pierce and San Bruno Region 2-B-249
