San Bruno CA: WHEN Does San Bruno Soccer Season Start?

San Bruno Patch Cub Reporter Greg Pierce Reports:

San Bruno AYSO Region 249 will be celebrating its Fall season opener on Friday, September 5th with its annual Parade of Players. The festivities start at 5:00 pm at the Crestmoor Field on Courtland Drive when players, coaches and family members will start to gather. Home made team banners honoring their sponsors will be judged at 5:30 by a special panel of San Bruno dignitaries. Promptly at 6:00 pm players and coaches will then march as a team with their banners around the lower field to the cheers of their supporters. The entire event is filmed by the San Bruno Cable Company.

This is a very special year for AYSO Region 249 as the American Youth Soccer Organization is celebrating its 50th Anniversary as a World Class youth sports provider. Right here in San Bruno we are celebrating our Centennial so there will be many special events to mark both anniversaries. The San Bruno Lions Club will be serving a hot dog feast to every player and coach on the game day opener, Saturday, September 6 - also at Crestmoor Field on Courtland Drive, starting at 9:00 am. Each player will also receive a complimentary Fruit Squish’ems from AYSO National Sponsor Dole as well as Cheese and Dairy samples will be provided by Kerrygold, the National Cheese and Butter Sponsor for every guest on game day.

This promises to be a special year for AYSO youth soccer in San Bruno!
