San Bruno Hit-And-Run Leaves Man With Critical Injuries

Police say they are looking for the vehicle — possibly a maroon or dark red crossover SUV — that was involved in the incident.

SAN BRUNO, CA — San Bruno police asked for the public's help Tuesday in finding the person responsible for hitting a man on El Camino Real and fleeing the scene. The victim, who was found lying in the roadway with major injuries, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The incident was reported around 11:30 p.m. Friday along the southbound side of El Camino Real, south of San Felipe Avenue, according to Lt. Ryan Johansen of the San Bruno Police Department. The vehicle that struck the 50-year-old man was nowhere to be seen.

"Based upon evidence at the scene, the involved vehicle is believed to be a newer model crossover SUV, similar to a Ford Edge," Johansen said. "The color of the vehicle may have been maroon or dark red. However, this information has not been confirmed."
