Curriculum > Parent Involvement

The San Bruno Park School District believes that the education of our children is a shared responsibility of both the school and the home. Each school, as well as, the district has a policy to encourage parent involvement. Students with involved parents, no matter what their income or background, are more likely to achieve at a higher level.

The responsibility of the school is to provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive, effective learning environment that enables children to meet the State academic achievement standards.

The responsibility of the parent is to support their child’s learning by monitoring attendance, homework completion, and television watching, volunteering in their child’s classroom, attending parent-teacher conferences, and participating as appropriate in decisions relating to the education of their child.

Parents are encouraged to join the Parent Teacher Association and to participate in school advisory committees such as School Site Council (SSC), English Language Acquisition Committee (ELAC), and Title I Parent Advisory Committee. Communication is provided through Principal Newsletters, School Accountability Report Cards, School Websites, Back to School Nights, Open House, and student Report Cards.
