On Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at 9:05 p.m., San Bruno Police Officers responded to the report of a motorist in need of assistance on El Camino Real near Commodore Drive. Officers determined that a vehicle traveling southbound on El Camino Real had rear ended a vehicle that was stopped for a red light, causing injuries to its occupants. The driver of the vehicle that caused the collision fled, the scene but officers located him nearby. A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, a forty-one year old Burlingame resident Jagdev Ram, had been driving under the influence. Ram was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for charges related to driving under the influence causing injury, and hit and run causing injury. The occupants of the involved vehicle were treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
