San Bruno Police, Redwood City CHP Plan Multiple Anti-DUI Operations This Weekend
BREAKING: Police say they'll be out in full force enforcing DUI laws.

SAN BRUNO, CA — San Bruno police and Redwood City area CHP officers say they will hold a total of four anti-DUI operations in the coming days— two on Friday night and one each on Saturday and Sunday nights.
The operation by the Redwood City Area Office of the California Highway Patrol will begin at 8 p.m. at an undisclosed location on the Peninsula. It will last until midnight.
San Bruno police said that each night their DUI saturation patrols will begin at 9 p.m. and end at 3 a.m. the following morning. Officers from San Bruno Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will target areas with a high frequency of DUI collisions and arrests.

"During these targeted patrols, officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, while also checking drivers to ensure drivers are properly licensed and not in gaging in any other types of criminal activity," San Bruno Police Sgt. Ryan Johansen said in a news release. "Specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving, which now accounts for a growing number of impaired driving crashes."
Funding for all the operations comes from state and federal grants.
