San Bruno, CA. May 10, 2018.

El Crystal teacher Jonathan Moyer is this year’s recipient of San Bruno Rotary’s “Larry Mobley Special Educator of the Year Award”. Rotarian Denise Granville and President-Elect Greg Pierce presented the award to Mr. Moyer at last night’s San Bruno Park School District Board of Trustees meeting.

Mr. Moyer was nominated by El Crystal Principal Dr. Jeanne Elliott who credits Mr. Moyer with exemplifying Rotary’s Four Way Test in how he applies himself as a Special Education teacher, a colleague, and teacher leader in working with at-risk students: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? San Bruno Rotary agreed.

Mr. Moyer serves San Bruno Park School District’s population of students with special needs. The Rotary recognition highlights “commitment to communicating candidly with parents, students, staff and administration about the needs of students. He understands the way to make the learning environment positive so that students feel happy and successful, thus building good will and better friendships with one another. His dedication exceeds the bar as he searches out struggling students, works closely with classroom teachers to provide detailed support strategies and, when he notes that students are unable to meet learning goals, he offers to support them and their teachers.”

Congratulations and thank you to Johnathan Moyer!
