San Francisco CA: Senator Hill on CPUC Peevey's non-reappointment
State Senator Jerry Hill, D-San Mateo/Santa Clara Counties, issued the following statement today reacting to Michael Peevey’s announcement that he will not seek reappointment to the California Public Utilities Commission:
“Californians should rejoice knowing that the PUC will now be able to turn over a new leaf and fulfill their mission of serving the public interest by protecting consumers and ensuring safe, reliable and affordable utility service. I’m confident that the Governor will appoint a new PUC president and new commissioner who will provide the public with exceptional service and moral standards beyond reproach. I will continue to seek oversight and transparency at the PUC to ensure that the regulators are truly holding utilities accountable and serving the public’s interest.”
