Scam Alert!!

Community: Scam Alert!

The below is reported by the Daly City CA Police Department.

Yesterday (July 16th 2014) a local Daly City business partner received a phone call from someone claiming to be from PG&E customer service. The caller said the business was two months behind in their payments and that service would be cut in one hour if $1,333 wasn’t paid immediately. The caller instructed the business partner to pay with a “GreenDot MoneyPak” card. The caller kept phoning the business partner until he paid.

PG&E says they never solicit payment by phone and will not threaten to disconnect service suddenly.

This has been happening all throughout the Bay Area for several months.

Please spread the word and do not fall victim to this scam!

Always call and confirm with the company before making payment.

DO NOT use the telephone number the caller gave you. That is not real either.
