Shaved Keys, Meth Found on San Bruno Theft Suspects: Police

Police were sent to the Tanforan Shopping Center after getting a report of a theft.

SAN BRUNO, CA – A call for theft at a San Bruno shopping center ended with the arrest of two San Francisco men after police say they found drugs and shaved keys.

It all started around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, according to San Bruno Police Lt. Troy Fry. Officials got word of a theft at the Tanforan Shopping Center and headed out to the area.

When they got to the scene, police say they commanded suspects Angel and Erik Johns to stop, but they drove off. Officers then found and spoke with the suspects.

"Both Erik and Angel Johns were found to be in possession of 'shaved keys' used to manipulate a vehicle’s ignition and commonly used to steal automobiles," Fry said in a news release.

What's more, officers found that Erik Johns had committed the theft at Tanforan and was in possession of methamphetamine, police said.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance and obstructing and delaying a peace officer.
