Supervisor Pine On Regional Measure 3 On June Ballot

Here is one side of the question

One Man's Opinion

Friends & Colleagues:

Traffic congestion has never been worse in the Bay Area and our mass transit systems are in dire need of investment. That’s why I am supporting Regional Measure 3 on the June 5th ballot. Regional Measure 3 would increase bridge tolls by an additional dollar in 2019, 2022 and 2025 in order to provide $4.45 billion over 25 years for a wide variety of transportation projects.

Projects that would receive funding under Regional Measure 3 include: replacing BART’s obsolete railcars; extending the Caltrain line to the Transbay Terminal; bringing BART to San Jose and Santa Clara; accelerating the planning for a second Transbay rail crossing; relieving some of the worst highway bottlenecks; improving the Dumbarton bridge corridor; adding new bike and pedestrian paths; and closing gaps in the Bay Trail. You can learn more about all of the Regional Measure 3 projects at www.YesOnRM3.com.

Regional Measure 3 won’t solve our transportation problems, but it is a big step in the right direction. Please join me in voting YES on Regional Measure 3 on June 5th.
