Teen Nabbed In San Bruno Break-Ins: Police

SAN BRUNO, CA — Two males, one of whom is only 16, were spotted breaking into cars in the San Bruno area on Friday, the police department says. Authorities caught up with one of the suspects, but the other remains on the run.
According to police Lt. Ryan Johansen, a call came for help around 3 a.m. after someone spotted two men breaking into vehicles in the area of Bayshore Circle and Herman Street.
"Officers located two male subjects that matched the description provided by witnesses, and attempted to contact them," Johansen said in a news release. "The subjects ran from officers in an attempt to flee."

While one of the suspects managed to get away, another was detained. Police soon learned that several vehicles in the area had been broken into.
"The subject that officers had detained was identified by a witness as having committed at least one of those vehicle burglaries," the lieutenant said. "This subject was also found to be in possession of property stolen from some of the vehicles that had been burglarized."

The suspect in custody was identified as a 16-year-old from San Francisco. He was taken to the juvenile detention facility on charges related to vehicle burglary, conspiracy, and resisting arrest, police said.
