I am the Interim Director for the Bay Area Center for International Trade Development (CITD) at Skyline College in San Bruno, California. The CITD promotes the growth of California businesses through education, training and business support. We also work with local businesses and develop industry-sanctioned courses in Global Trade and Logistics and Customs Brokerage to provide our students and local workers with 21st century skills.

We are excited to be offering International Business courses over the summer for people who have an interest in international trade as well as for those who are already working in the industry. These courses were designed with local businesses in Global Trade and Logistics and Customs Brokerage that struggle to find entry level staff with a basic knowledge of the industry. Cost is $46 per unit. Priority Registration opens: May 2-7, 2018 Open Registration: May 8, 2018.

I have been with Thornley & Pitt for 9 years and worked my way up from beginning at the bottom as an air import analyst. Currently, I handle all air imports for the company. I also handle top customers for Ocean Import.
I used what I learned at Skyline to further my employment here and enrolled in an on line customs broker class in April 2016. I took and passed the US Customs & Border Protection Customs Broker Exam in October 2016 on my first try.”
