Community Gallery Located on the lower level of the Hall of Justice building the Community Gallery will be showing “Visions of Hope” a collection of watercolors by El Granada artist Ellen Silva fromMar 5 to April 27, 2018. Ellen Silva is a fine artist, muralist, graphic designer, webmaster and musician, and is also an artist in residence at many Bay Area schools. She also serves as Art Specialist for the Cabrillo School District, teaching “Creating Murals”, and “Art in the Park” classes. Ellen Silva paints to connect herself to her community. She uses her art as a way to create joy and hope in her own world, and hopefully in others lives as well. When viewing her work, you‘ll view vibrant nature-inspired art (on recycled fence boards, wood, and canvas), expressing my appreciation for our natural world, with all of its wonderful shapes and hues. In addition to her natural environment, inspiration also comes from Joni Mitchell, Vincent Van Gogh, Georgia O’Keefe, Peter Max, San Francisco muralist Susan Cervantes, Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, and countless musicians.

Rotunda Gallery Located at 555 County Center across from the Hall of Justice the Rotunda Gallery is currently showing the works of Redwood City sculptor Paul Powell. This display is scheduled until the end of June. Paul Powell is creating one of a kind works of art using discarded materials and special lumber long forgotten by the logging crews who fell them years ago. Pauls’ ability to create such unique pieces of art comes from his strong imagination, which has been influenced by J.R. Tolken and his work. The exhibit will run to June 28, 2018.
