Youth Carjacks Person In San Bruno, Leads Police On Chase: SBPD
Officials say the juvenile was eventually arrested after they crashed while exiting Highway 101 on the Peninsula.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A juvenile carjacked a person in San Bruno on Friday, led police on a chase down the Peninsula and crashed into parked cars before eventually getting caught, police announced this week.
It all started around 2:12 a.m. Friday in the area of Santa Lucia Avenue and Elm Avenue, according to San Bruno Police Lt. Ryan Johansen. Police were called when "the victim reported that the suspect had brandished a weapon and ordered the victim out" of their vehicle.
Police caught up with the suspect a short time later as it merged onto southbound Highway 101, but the driver refused to pull over, officials said.

"Officers pursued the vehicle on southbound Interstate 101 until it exited onto Poplar Avenue in San Mateo," Johansen said. "The vehicle collided with two parked vehicles as it exited the freeway."
The juvenile driver was arrested at the scene and then taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The person's age and gender were not revealed.
