Man Charged With Stabbing Marines In San Clemente

SANTA ANA, CA -- A 24-year-old man was charged Tuesday with stabbing three U.S. Marines during a fight in San Clemente. Alexis Moreno Aguirre faces three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, with sentencing enhancement allegations of inflicting great bodily injury, according to court records.

The alleged attack happened just after 1 a.m. last Saturday in a parking lot in the 200 block of El Camino Real, according to Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The three male Marines, two 21 years old and the other 23 years old, were taken to an area hospital. An update on their condition was not immediately available, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening, Braun said.
