San Clemente: Sign-Up To Have Santa Visit Your Neighborhood This Holiday Season

CITY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR NEIGHBORHOOD PARTICIPATION IN NEW HOLIDAY ACTIVITY, “THE HOLLY JOLLY TROLLEY TROT”

HOA’s and street captains can sign-up to have Santa visit their neighborhoods this holiday season.

10/26/2020…San Clemente, California… With the holiday season nearly upon us and many regular holiday festivities looking much different, the City of San Clemente Recreation Division is pleased to offer an alternative holiday celebration for neighborhoods across San Clemente, “The Holly Jolly Trolley Trot”. This special activity brings Santa to your street for a drive by visit, spreading holiday cheer and sharing the magic of the season.

In this unique celebration, Santa will cruise through your neighborhood or street, parade style, waving and spreading holiday cheer on the iconic San Clemente Trolley. Santa’s elves will be handing out goodie bags to children along the street, making periodic stops to allow for socially-distanced photos in front of the Trolley with Santa. The family friendly visits will encourage a joyful time while maintaining social distance. Grab your lawn chairs, blankets, hot cocoas, and holiday treats, and get ready for a magical experience – right in your front yard!

To get your neighborhood or street on Santa’s “stop list”, have one representative from your HOA board complete the online application, prior to November 13. Is your home not a part of an HOA? No problem! Work with your neighbors to designate one individual as your “street captain” and fill out the application on behalf of your street. To ensure better administration of this exciting holiday program, please designate only one representative from each neighborhood or street to apply. A nominal fee of $50 will be charged to all approved applications.

All visits will be scheduled within the first two weeks of December, on Friday and Saturday between the hours of 3pm-7pm, based on availability and location. A final schedule will be emailed to applicants with route details and time slots. The application can be completed and returned at www.san-clemente.org/events, click on the event listing.
