SURF REPORT: Call in Sick and Grab a Session

Solid surf with plenty of size on tap today.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.

Well, this looks like one of those days where you might want to call in sick. Yep, we're seeing some pretty solid surf on tap.  So, if you like plenty of size, then get out there!

The conditions are starting off fairly clean, with mostly the continued southerly swell sticking around for another day. That recipe is providing this neck of the woods with some fast and wedgy, sectiony lines, with some of those sets a bit walled.

Most spots in San Clemente are seeing chest-high to overhead, with the standout south-facing breaks pulling waves a couple feet overhead. Those south facing beaches are definitely going to have quite a bit of current, so plan on doing a lot of paddling!!

Checking the tides: At 6:28 early this morning it drained out to a negative 1.0 low which will have many spots desperate for water early to mid-morning. Your best bet once that tide turns around and fills-in a bit. It eventually climbs up to a 3.8 high at 1:12 this afternoon.

If you're going to get out there and grab a session, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature hanging between 60 and 62 degrees.

Have fun out there!
