SURF REPORT: Leave the Board in the Garage

Find another activity!

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.

Well, on a scale of one to ten, I'd give it about a three or maybe a four. Yep, the surf is still stuck in fairly small mode and we're starting off today with some deteriorating conditions.

We already have some texture or bump on it, with just a minor amount of energy in the water. There's mostly similar-size northwest wind and groundswell and not much south southwest energy to speak of.

That recipe is providing some crumbly, bumpy sectiony lines, with maybe a few decent shoulders. Most spots in San Clemente are running about knee- to waist-high, with the focal points pulling maybe a plus set if you're lucky.

At 5:50 this morning the tide climbed up to a 4.6 high which will have some spots pretty full and slow early on. The tide then drains out to a 0.0 low at 12:39 this afternoon.

If you're desperate to get wet, then break out at least a 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temp taking another dip and averaging between 56 and 57 degrees.

Good luck out there!
