SURF REPORT: Look for a Bit More Energy

It picked up a bit!

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report. Well, it looks like it picked up a bit.

Now, don't get too stoked, but there are some playful-size waves coming through.

We're seeing some clean and glassy conditions early on, with a combination of mostly west northwest swell and a tad of south southwesterly energy in the mix.

That recipe is providing some kinda crumbly and broken-up lines, with a few fast sections. Most spots in San Clemente are running about knee- to stomach-high, with the standout breaks pulling some chest-high sets.

At 7:45 this morning the tide pushes up to a 4.7 high which wil have things starting off fairly slow early to mid-morning. So, if you can wait for that tide to drop a bit, but get it before it eventually drains out to a 0.1 low at 2:12 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!
