SURF REPORT: Low Tide to Start; Increase in Action

Starting off slow due to the negative tide!

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report. Well, we're off to a slow start because of the early morning negative low tide, but we should see a increase in the action as the day goes on.

The conditions are looking nice and glassy from the start, with a small to decent amount of energy. We've got mainly south southwest swell and not much northwest energy to speak of.

That recipe is making for some kinda crumbly, sectiony lines, with some fun corners. Most San Clemente spots are seeing knee- to waist-high plus waves, with the top south facing breaks pulling some belly high-waves, with some occasional chest-high sets.

Taking a look at the tides: At 6:13 this morning it dropped to a negative 0.4 low which will have some spots really needing water early to mid-morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 3.2 high at 12:58 this afternoon.

If you're going to grab a session, that 3/2 fullsuit will do the job, with the water temperature hanging on the cool side between 58 and 60 degrees. Have fun out there!
