SURF REPORT: Not as Good as Thursday, But Still Fun

The surf backs down, but it's still super fun!

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report. Well, it looks as if the surf has definitely backed down, but there are still plenty of playful size waves today.

The conditions are starting off pretty clean and glassy, with a combination of fading west northwest swell and some new minimal south southwesterly energy starting to show.

That recipe is offering some fast and kinda crumbly sectiony lines, with some nice corners to grab. Most spots in San Clemente are seeing knee- to chest-high waves, with the standout breaks pulling an occasional plus set.

At 8:49 this morning the tide pushes up to a 5.8 high which is going to have many spots starting off kinda slow throughout the morning. The tide then drains out to a negative 0.7 low at 3:11 this afternoon.

If you're going to grab a session, break out at least the 3/2 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 58 degrees. See ya' in the water!
