• All Orange and Riverside County shelter-in-place orders lifted for Gibby Fire in San Juan Capistrano (dailydispatch.com) — A fast-moving brush fire near Ortega Highway and Gibby Road in San Juan Capistrano grew to about 250 acres Wednesday, briefly triggering shelter-in-place orders in parts of Orange and Riverside counties. Firefighters have now stopped its forward progress, lifted all shelter-in-place orders, and kept Ortega Highway closed in both directions near Rancho Mission Viejo and Lake Elsinore while crews continue mop-up and patrol.
   

• El Niño, marine heat wave fuels yellowtail frenzy off local waters (ocregister.com) — Warm El Niño-driven waters are bringing unusually good yellowtail fishing just off Dana Point and Laguna Beach, drawing anglers from across the region. San Juan Capistrano resident Ireland Bloem is among those taking advantage of the close-to-shore action, reeling in multiple yellowtail while local charter boats, bait shops, and restaurants enjoy a welcome business boost.
