SVCS is a small private co-ed high school, with approximately 150 girls, in San Juan Capistrano. The girls indoor volleyball team is in CIF Division 4AA. Yet, despite its small size, SVCS was ranked 6th out of all schools in Southern California. With a record of 4-0, SVCS is tied for first place out of the 30 schools in the Interscholastic Beach Volleyball League.
Interscholastic high school beach volleyball is in its 2nd year in Southern California. Started in 2012 with 8 teams, there are now 30 high schools competing. Girls beach volleyball matches feature three teams playing from each school. The school which wins at least two of the matches wins the dual match.

The SVCS first team of Heidi Dyer of San Clemente & Jaelyn Greene of Mission Viejo defeated Long Beach's Mary Hernandez, one of the stronger high school beach volleyball players in SoCal, in 3 games. SVCS' second team of Sydney Martin & Ashley Bonetto won in 2. Martin/Bonetto & Dyer/Greene are also 4-0 as teams this season. SVCS' 3rd team of Jasmyn Bland & Kaitlyn O'Brien lost their first game to Long Beach Wilson's Haley Martin & partner, but then came back to win games 2 & 3 for the match. Teammates Shannon Geraty & Justice Whitney did not compete this weekend.
Next up for SVCS is on April 13 is league rival Edison, also 4-0, along with a non-league match against Palisades Charter.
