Permaculture Design Certification Course (June-August)

Become certified in permaculture design, an ecological and sustainable approach to creating healthy and abundant living spaces.

Living outside of our ecological means is no longer an option. We have all become overly dependent on outside resources such as the energy grid, industrial food systems, water companies, and waste services. Our society quickly turned from working with our environment to fighting against it. Sadly we have evolved into a disposable culture who use items once then throw them in the trash.

Permaculture gives us the tools and techniques needed to start giving back to our environment while ensuring a promising productive future for all. We can begin to go back to the basics, with the added advantage of modern technology. Permaculture design works with nature rather than against it, and those who are educated on it gain a whole new perspective on food, waste, water, energy, and shelter.

Becoming a certified Eco-Apprentice will allow you to help yourself and others lead a sustainable life. The Ecology Center offers a three month 72-hour certification course on permaculture design. This course in particular will teach hands-on techniques on organic farming practices, sustainable landscapes, composting methods, worm bins efficiencies, as well as grey water system and rain collection systems installation, and much more. Students will create a real life project with permaculture design for clients and conceptual business plans that incorporate permaculture techniques.
