After 40 years of work and raising his family, Michael has been forced to move to a retirement home. Despite his objections, he's assigned a computerized virtual assistant, Betta. Soon he meets Chrystal, Betta’s stressed and neurotic programmer, and comes to accept the future as the three of them grow into an unusual kind of family.
