Final Vote Tallies for SJC Elections

A couple of weeks after the election, the final numbers are in.

The election may have been Nov. 6, but the final votes weren’t tallied until last week.

On Thanksgiving eve, workers at the Orange County Registrar of Voters certified the results, according to Registrar Neal Kelley,

Byrnes, who served on the council in the 1970s, stretched his lead from 679 votes on election night to 725 by the time the county had counted all the provisional and absentee ballots turned in at the precincts.

No. 2 vote-getter Allevato also increased his lead over challenger McCarthy, from 273 votes after the first night of counting ended to 441 votes last week.

Only two seats were up for election this year.

And here’s how the various seats for the Capistrano Unified School District school board were won:
