Last Chance: Things You Just Gotta Do This Week

Tuesday  — Last day to submit a nomination for the Honorary Service Award, a California State PTA award whose recipients volunteer in ways that meet the mission of PTA to positively impact the lives of all children and families. A monetary contribution will be made in the recipient’s name to the California State PTA Scholarship and Grant Program.  Recipients might include PTA members, teachers, school district employees, community members and local businesses.  Through your recommendations, the HSA Committee will make the final selection(s.) parents can submit nomination(s) to kerrykeen@pacbell.net  

4:30 p.m. Tuesday — Last day to submit a name in the name-that-park contest the Youth Advisory Board is sponsoring. Youth in San Juan Capistrano are encouraged to submit their ideas to name the open space area currently known as the . The entries should be based on historical and cultural names of local significance, geographical, natural, or geological characteristics, plants or animals indigenous to the location. The City Council will choose the winning entry. The winner will be recognized at a City Council meeting and will receive a recognition certificate presented to the recipient by the mayor of San Juan Capistrano. Wednesday — Last day for families to register their students for an after-school science assembly March 28, hosted by the Discovery Science Center.

Thursday — Last day to wear civilian clothes. On Friday, if you’re caught in modern-wear, into the jail you go!
