NCL Group Assists with Thanksgiving Feast

NCL Capistrano Coast Chapter helps serve others at Family Assistance Ministries' annual Thanksgiving Feast.

Members of the Capistrano Coast Chapter of the National Charity League (NCL) met on November 26 to volunteer their time and assist other volunteers with Family Assistance Ministries’ Thanksgiving Feast. Seven NCL mother/daughter teams helped set-up, decorate, serve food, and clean-up at the celebratory event.

Family Assistance Ministries (FAM) provides assistance and aid to thousands of people in South Orange County. Some examples of FAM’s local assistance includes providing shelter, utility assistance, transportation assistance, medical, dental, prescriptions assistance, financial counseling and courses, free income tax preparation, as well as collaboration with other social services organizations to provide referrals and medical screenings, immunizations, eye glasses to people in need. As a 501(c)3 organization, all funds raised are used to fulfill FAM’s mission in South Orange County.

This is the seventh year that NCL has volunteered at FAM’s annual Thanksgiving Feast which provides a hot Thanksgiving Eve dinner to needy members of the community who might otherwise go without. Organized by FAM, all food for this event is provided through community donations.
