One Seriously Injured in Accident on Ortega Highway
UPDATED: The collision has shut down Ortega about a mile east of Antonio Parkway. Both directions are now open.

One person was seriously injured this afternoon in a collision between a dump truck and a car, which temporarily closed Ortega Highway east of San Antonio Parkway.
The head-on collision happened about 2:50 p.m. about a mile east of San Antonio, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Jon Latosquin. All lanes were temporarily closed, with the westbound lane reopened by 4:45 p.m. and the eastbound side about 20 minutes later.

Orange County Fire Authority paramedics took one patient with serious injuries to an area hospital, OCFA Capt. Mike Blawn said.
