Potential Council Candidates Total 7

Another resident, Planning Commissioner Ginny Kerr, is considering a run for one of two open seats this November.

Yet another resident is considering a run for San Juan Capistrano City Council, bringing the total field to seven for two open spots.

Ginny Kerr, a current member of the Planning Commission, picked up her filing papers Tuesday. She joins fellow member and , current City Councilman Sam Allevato, former and residents and Kim McCarthy.

Only Marantz has returned his nominating papers.

Two seats, currently held by Allevato and Councilwoman Laura Freese, are up for grabs in the Nov. 6 election. The deadline in which to file for candidacy is Friday, unless an incumbent declines to run for re-election. In that case, the deadline is extended out to Aug. 15.
